Uno Dos Tacos‘ philosophy is simple: keep it fun and make it fresh. What sets them apart from every other taco restaurant is that they make all of their tortillas with fresh maize (brought in daily from Oakland’s La Finca Tortilleria) rolled out individually and cooked on a real Mexican grill. Salsa? Made in house. Carnitas? Made in house. You get the picture.
Uno Dos Tacos is the latest eatery from the people behind Super Duper and numerous other SF mainstays. Their delicious Mexican cuisine is brought to life by Guadalajara native, Luis Flores. Luis’ focus is on real Mexican food made by hand, from scratch – lovingly crafted and deeply personal; he draws influence from his large family kitchen back in Mexico.
So what can you expect? Five different meat options:
asada, carnitas, pescado, tinga (chicken) and lengua – available in either a burrito, taco, lunch plate or salad. All are rounded off perfectly with chef-made tortillas and one of the five house salsas, each made daily and specially paired to spark the flavor of each dish.
Uno Dos Tacos should certainly not be missed by the vegetarians or Gluten Free amongst us; their vegetarian options are quite simply delicious and their lunch plates are fresh, satisfying and flavorful.
